My mother Jay Peterson designed two posters for the Canadian Mental Health Association – London-Middlesex Branch Mental Health Week in 1952. One was a functional family montage and the other was a dysfunctional one. I will leave it up to you to decide if these posters are still relevant today.

A review of Thomas King’s The Inconvenient Indian: A Curious Account of Native People in North America (2012). King (1943-) has Cherokee, Greek and German ancestry. I find he sometimes contradicts himself, but some of his recommendations are constructive.

Charles T. Peterson (1913-2007) – His (Rejected) Submission to the Royal Commission on the Northern Environment, 1978
My father Charles T Peterson (1913-2007) was born and raised in Bruce Mines, Ontario. He was very concerned about irresponsible development in Northern Ontario, so made a submission to the Royal Commission on the Northern Environment, 1978. His submission was rejected, but some of his arguments for sustainable development are worth noting.

Around the early 1960s, my mother painted pictures of children on the wall of my father’s periodontal office. His office was torn down shortly after he retired, but before his office was dismantled, he cut the pictures out of the wall and had them individually framed; a couple of examples are included with this post.

Chippewas of the Thames First Nation (COTTFN) Proposed Urban Reserve for London, Ontario, Canada – Some Points for Discussion
The Chippewas of the Thames First Nation (COTTFN) is located about 20 km southwest of London. In 2013, COTTFN voted in favour of creating an urban reserve as part of a land claims settlement. This reserve was to be located in London. I examine the implications of this.
